Overnight I fell ill as well and it continued to get worse throughout the day and for this reason, I spent most of my day sleeping and did not go to the hospital. I called the NICU during the night and spoke to the nurse caring for our babies and she told me that they were all doing very good and were eating well. The fact they were eating well she thought was the best testament to how they are handling the stresses of being ill so she get they would quickly be able to kick the virus. This was what I needed to hear as I began to fall ill myself and realized that I may have been the person to infect them over a day before I even felt symptoms myself. Obviously unknowingly but the guilt is none the less pretty heavy on my shoulders for many reasons.
Fortunately Yum was able to go with Tracy and help her adjust to caring for our babies in this new and difficult environment where all the babies are in separate rooms and separate protective clothing is required when going into each room. Tracy told me that the babies all ate very well which is encouraging to hear.
