The beginning of triplets journey

Before we share you our journey, we wanted to give a little background into the our life leading up to our little miracles. In December 2014, Tracy was two months pregnant when we lost what would’ve been our second child who we later named Austin. It was a heartbreaking time for us and as we recovered, we began to consider IVF as our only possibility for having another child. Tracy’s doctor referred us to Dr. Kavoussi in Austin who evaluated us gave us an option.

He said that given our unique circumstances, he suggested that our best chance would be to try three embryos. At the time it was uncertain if any would survive long after they were placed but the odds of having multiples was less than 1%. About a month later we went in together for an ultrasound to check on the progress and met with the nurse Kate. As she checked, she quickly found a heartbeat and we were so excited to learn Tracy was pregnant. Just as we were taking in the good news, Kate announced a second heartbeat and we realized we were having twins. Then we got the truly life changing news that she located a third heartbeat and that we were having triplets!

As the months went on, Tracy went to multiple doctors who monitored the progress of this high risk pregnancy. The month of August was especially difficult as Tracy began to wrap up her work and started maternity leave when her size would no longer allow her to work. The pain and discomfort she endured to give our babies the best possible start was beyond courageous and admirable as I was so proud of her. As September rolled around, Tracy found it was increasingly difficult to move herself around and was forced to spend most of her time laying down as back, shoulder, and stomach pains grew more intense.

On Saturday afternoon (September 10th),  Auntie Terrie came by to take Miranda and Caleb out for swimming. I was sharing my discomfort of not being able mobile anymore and sharing that I don’t remember what contractions were like when I had Caleb and she was explaining her experiences to me. I was pretty much aching all over, carried an oversized belly weight, and my legs and feet were very swollen. Good pep talk with her from her personal memory and as an experienced nurse. My aunt took off with the kids. I went to wake up Daniel as I wanted to have some time with him before he went to work that night. As we chatted, I felt the pain from my back shot up to the front belly. It was exactly description of what my aunt was describing what contraction was like. I asked Daniel helped me get up, and I said I am having contractions! We worked on timing my breathing and Daniel was timing the contractions before agree it’s time to go to hospital. My aunt got the kids out of the pool and came back to check on me and she agreed it was time to go.

  3. Tracy and Daniel, I look forward to reading your updates and being able to pray specific, time sensitive, and relevant prayer needs for your family. It appears you may be fairly preoccupied for a while🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗. Tracy, get as much rest as possible, you now have a most demanding job, 24:7, family of 7!!…don’t forget to allow yourself quiet time.
